Customs Administration
Customs Administration is a body of the Republic Government, within the Ministry of Finance, and is headed by its director. The Customs Administration executes its activities via its regional units – the 14 customs offices, one of them in Kosovo and Metohija. Customs points and customs units are less general organizational forms within customs offices.
Via their organizational units, customs offices execute customs procedure in passenger and goods traffic, including: customs monitoring, customs clearance, combating illegal import, customs administrative and misdemeanor procedure, sale of customs goods and enforced collection of customs duties.
Customs Administration is responsible for correct and uniform application of customs-related regulations, control of customs offices, appeals of customs administrative procedure, coordination of anti-smuggling activities and customs investigations, IT activities, organizational and personnel affairs, financial-material, general and procurement activities. In order to execute these tasks, activities of the Customs Administration are realized within five departments – customs and legal affairs, information, personnel and organization, financial-material and security department. A part of the personnel, financial and general tasks is also executed by customs offices.
Via a computer network and information system, the Customs Administration is connected with all its organizational units, which use this system in the customs-procedure, and employees in this sector of the Customs Administration are available for the executive 24/7.
