Serbian Minister of Finance Mladjan Dinkic said today that by opening its representative office in Belgrade, Austrian company Doppelmayr will make its contribution to the development of Serbian tourism by generating larger revenues in this area. At the opening of Doppelmayr’s office in Belgrade, Dinkic said that this company has already contributed to the increase in the number of overnight stays on Mt Kopaonik by installing three cableways. He added that this company will make its contribution through its engagement on Mt Stara Planina, which vies to become the largest ski resort in this part of the world and where 40 cableways will be installed.

Serbian Minister of Finance Mladjan Dinkic said today that the capital surplus in Serbia's balance of payment this year will be between $8 and $9 billion, which will create a material base for greater transfers to local self-governments. Opening a public discussion "State transfers to local authorities", Dinkic said that owing to this year's inflows into the budget of 20% of GDP, the state is able to transfer a considerable part of funds and responsibilities to local self-governments.

Serbian Minister of Finance Mladjan Dinkic announced today in Vlasotince that €100 million will be set aside for the development of 13 municipalities of the Jablanica and Pcinj districts in 2007. In a meeting with representatives of the 13 municipalities, Dinkic said that in 2007 Serbia will substantially increase the funding of its south, on condition that developmental projects of the Republic and local authorities are better coordinated and selected. The Minister announced that the Coordinating Body for municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja will receive €12 million, or twice as much as this year.

Dinkic told at press conference that the government’s clause for this grant was that the funds should be spent for investing. The first part of the amount equating €42 million has already been paid out, while the rest will be transferred by June 30, 2007, Dinkic said.

Serbian Minister of Finance Mladjan Dinkic said at a conference on money laundering organised by OSCE Mission to Serbia that there were 145,000 registered transactions worth over €15,000 this year in Serbia, 526 of which have been marked as suspicious. Dinkic noted that only one verdict which is still not final has been brought out of 41 criminal charges against 47 persons and 14 indictments.
