Mirko Cvetkovic’s interview to Vecernje novosti daily, June 4, 2007 - To Fulfill Election Campaign Promises

Parallel to the budget proposal for this year, in the mid of this month, we will present to the Members of the Parliament drafted amendments to the set of laws that will provide for fulfillment of promises given in the election campaign – Mirko Cvetkovic, the current Minister of Finance in the Serbian Government, announced for Novosti. – By this, I primarily refer to the amendments of the tax laws that will provide for the persons buying first apartment not to have to pay the levies. Of course, this applies equally for the purchase of the apartments in the new residential buildings where up to now the VAT had to be paid in any case, and for the apartments bought from previous owners in which case the first-time buyers were paying transfer tax.
